THE NATIONAL ACADEMY OF HEALTH AND PHYSICAL LITERACY (NAHPL)
is a diverse organization that seeks to advance health and physical literacy in our society, especially in K-12 schools, higher education, and in dance and sport venues. NAHPL seeks to grow and advance professional leaders who will interact and network on regional, national and global levels to expand health and physical literacy opportunities for all children and adults.
As a member and mission centered organization, NAHPL encourages and facilitates active participation by all members, advocating for health and physical literacy. NAHPL leadership and members plan and implement professional learning opportunities and events at the regional and national levels, and advocate for health and physical literacy in Pre-K-higher education and across society.

It is an honor to bring you greetings as the fourth president of the National Academy of Health and Physical Literacy, The Academy. Since our launch in 2021 we have held four national Summits from Newport Rhode Island (twice) to Baton Rouge Louisiana, and Orlando Florida. Currently, we are planning for the 2027 NAHPL Summit to be held at the Marriott in beautiful Kansas City, Missouri. Our Midland Region leaders and Professional Development team are working on creative and engaging ways to bring thematic workshops, keynote speakers, inspiring program sessions, and fun social events to our Summit with a new and refreshing format. If you are a person who facilitates health literacy or physical literacy learning and development in the PK-12 schools, and /or colleges and universities, Exercise Science, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Sports Management, Recreation, Counseling, Social Work, Allied Health, Nutrition or other like areas, then we have a home for you! I invite you to submit a program proposal in the coming months to share your expertise in the areas of health and/or physical literacy.
